Darlington Borough Council encourages Small Medium Enterprise (SME), Social Enterprise, the Voluntary & Community Sector (VCS) and Black & Minority Ethnic (BME) organizations to work with us supplying goods/services/works. We appreciate on some of the larger contracts this is difficult as you may not have the time and resources to give to submitting a large tender for example however you may be able to supply to the Council on a smaller scale.
The Council has procedures in place which mean that any contract over £75,000 must go through a tender process, however anything under that figure only requires a set number of quotations to be obtained. We have therefore adopted a registration scheme aimed to encourage SME, BME and VCS companies to register on a database. This database will be available for Council employees to view and check whether there are organisation and companies listed who can provide what they are looking for.
It must be emphasised that there is no guarantee of any work from Darlington Borough Council if you register but it will enable your organization or company details to be viewed by Council employees who may require your services.
