What is a Children’s Centre?

A Children’s Centre is a ‘one stop shop’ delivering easily accessible services for families with young children.

Most of Darlington’s Children’s Centres are SureStart Centres or extended Neighbourhood Nurseries. They offer the following services for pre-school children and their families:

  • Early education combined with childcare
  • Child and family health services
  • Family support
  • Support for children and families with disabilities and special needs.
  • Access to Darlington Families Information Service
