Childcare Audit

The results of Darlington's 2011 Childcare Survey have been released. Darlington Borough Council currently has a statutory duty to ensure there is sufficient childcare/supervised activities for working parents, parents who are training or in education and those parents with a disabled child or young person.

The 2011 Childcare Sufficiency Key Findings, the Executive Summary and the main research document are available below. The Council is in the process of drafting an action plan looking at how we can 'plug the childcare gaps' which have been highlighted for children aged up to 14 years or 17 years for those young people with a disability. If you would like to comment on the findings or submit your views on what you think should be in the action plan or just comment on childcare in the Borough generally, either complete the parental childcare questionnaire or e-mail Nicola Davies, Commissioning Projects Officer at nicola.davies@darlington.gov.uk or the Families' Information Service at fis@darlington.gov.uk.
