With a stock of more than 26,000 items, expert staff are available to assist you and deal with any enquiries you have.
An extensive collection of reference material includes books, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, guidebooks, leaflets and online databases are available. covering the whole spectrum of human knowledge. Many national newspapers [pdf document] and magazines [pdf document] are taken and kept for a year and local newspapers are kept permanently.
We have a comprehensive range of legal sources including Halsbury's Law database and information on public general acts.
Our community information database provides information on local, regional and some national organisations and societies as well as other services and facilities.
Our railway collection has books and railway magazines [pdf document] covering British railways and railways around the world.
Services
Internet and email
Booking is advisable, and this service may be used by accompanied children as well as adult members. The first half hour is free (limited to one session a day).
Photocopying Service
A staff operated photocopier can be used to copy both personal items and Library material, within the bounds of copyright.
Fax Service
Faxes may be sent and received to and from anywhere in the world

Scan and Email Service
Staff will scan documents and email them to any email address for a charge of £1.00 for the first page and £0.50 for each subsequent page. The maximum number of scanned documents is limited to 20 pages.
