Reference Library
With a stock of more than 26,000 items the reference library handles over 44,00 enquiries per year on a wide variety of topics. Expert staff are available to assist users and deal with enquiries received in person, by post, e-mail or by telephone.
An extensive collection of reference material includes books, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, guidebooks, leaflets and online databases, covering the whole spectrum of human knowledge. Many national newspapers are taken and kept for a year and local newspapers are kept permanently.
Our Community Information database provides information on local, regional and some national organisations and societies as well as other services and facilities. You can look at the Community Information resource on Viewpoint in the library.
