Integrated Tools and Processes

Integrated working is where everyone supporting children and young people works together effectively to put the child at the centre; meet their needs and improve their lives. By combining their professional expertise, knowledge and skills and involving the child or young person and family throughout, practitioners can identify needs earlier, deliver a more co-ordinated package of support that is centred on the child or young person, and help secure better outcomes for them.

There are a number of integrated tools and process which will help ensure that children get their needs met at the earliest opportunity such as:-

  • Common Assessment Framework (CAF)
  • Lead Practitioner
  • Information Sharing

Improving Information Sharing and Management (IISaM) is the development of a single programme to oversee information sharing - the electronic enablement of the CAF (eCAF), the Integrated Children’s System (ICS) and the Connexions Client Caseload System (CCIS) to ensure a more co-ordinated delivery.
