Lingfield is a friendly, proactive Community Partnership consisting of local people, groups and organisations that are happy to work together on a range of different issues. We also have a strong interest in environmental projects and welcome new members at any time. If you or your local group would like to get more involved please contact our Community Development Worker or come along to one of our monthly meetings.

Lingfield Partnerships Projects Newsletter

We produce a regular newsletter as a way of getting information about the work of the Partnership and our projects out to all residents in the ward. The newsletter can advertise all types of local events, so if your group has news or something you want to tell others about, why not get in touch with us?

Heathfield School Allotment Project

Members of the Partnership are working with staff and children at Heathfield and Groundwork to create an allotment garden in the school grounds during 2008. This joint project will bring lots of people of all ages together around growing food and caring for the local environment. A blog has been set up to chart the progress of the allotment over the coming year and the first photographs and diary entries can be seen at the Heathfield School Allotment Blog.

Lingfield Fun Run

We have an annual Fun Run to promote the work of the Partnership, highlight healthy eating and exercise, to have fun together and to create a sense of community spirit in the area. This year’s event will take place on Sunday 27th April between 1.30pm – 4.30pm at Heathfield School, the Broadway and will include some stalls from local organisations and groups, a bouncy castle for children and a chance to look at the progress of the school allotment project. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in with the fun!

Yarm Road Women’s Group

Over the last couple of years the Community Partnership helped to establish a local Women’s Group that meets regularly at St Herbert’s church hall to socialise, discuss local issues and to have a bit of fun. The Yarm Road Women’s Group now manage their own affairs and have organised their own exercise class, run a members book club and are trying to raise funds to pay for other activities and trips. For further information about the group, which meets on Tuesday afternoons 1pm-3pm, please contact Irene on (01325) 256363.

The Big Draw

Lingfield held a ‘Big Draw’ event in October at St Herbert’s Church to promote drawing skills and intend to make this an annual event. Everyone who attended the Saturday workshop had a go at drawing seasonal fruit and vegetables with different kinds of art materials, and many of the pictures were displayed in the church during Harvest Festival.
