Core Strategy

The Core Strategy will be the key, central overarching document in the new Local Development Framework.  It will set out the land use planning parts of the draft Sustainable Community Strategy, the Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy and the Climate Change Strategy.  It will include:

  • A spatial vision and strategic objectives for the Borough;
  • A spatial strategy;
  • Core policies; and
  • A monitoring and implementation framework.
      

Issues and Options 2008

The Issues and Options is the first stage in the production of the Core Strategy.  It will set out several key issues relating to:

  • Achieving A more Sustainable Community
  • Quality Housing For All
  • A Prosperous Darlington
  • A Distinctive, Greener and Cleaner Environment
  • A Healthy and Safe Darlington
  • A Vibrant Town Centre and Quality Local Shops and Services
  • Efficient and Effective Transport Infrastructure

All documents are also available for inspection at the Town Hall, within normal office hours (see visiting us).  They are also being made available at libraries, neighbourhood housing offices, community centres and village halls.
