'All Together Now' - a social inclusion strategy for Darlington
The Council’s approach to social inclusion is about working to improve the life chances of people who are at risk of disadvantage and discrimination. This message is all the more poignant when we realise that the vicious circle of helplessness, poverty and social exclusion can flow from the kind of everyday events (the loss of a job, an illness, the dependency of a relative) that can happen to any of us at any time.

The Council is working towards level 4 (5 being the highest) of the Equality Standard for Local Government. The Standard recognises the importance of providing equal access to local government services and employment, and fair treatment for staff and customers.
