The Arts Development team is part of Darlington Borough Council Arts Service, and includes responsibility for the education programme of courses and workshops and holiday programmes as well as community-based arts projects, and work with local schools. Many projects involve working in partnership with the numerous organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors. The majority of the work focuses on making the arts more accessible to a wide range of people and promoting the contribution that artists of all kinds can make to Darlingtons communities. The projects and activities are varied but are unified by a belief that the arts can make a positive and lasting difference to people’s lives.
