This new class offers you the chance to create items and gifts for Christmas by using recycled fabric, paper products and other bits and pieces. Learn card making skills; create gift boxes and bags, print onto fabric and produce other textile items of your choice. Under the guidance of a experienced textile artist you will learn and develop your skills in a friendly and sociable environment.
Tutor Jean Russell has always had an interest and a passion for textiles. She has a degree in Textile Design and has worked in Adult Education for the last eight years. Jean is also an enthusiastic dressmaker and has studied and worked as a Millinery Designer. She is keen for the class to be enjoyable and for you to steer your own development. So though the class is an opportunity to make Christmas gifts and cards, this is by no means its only focus, you will be free to suggest ideas for projects you may wish to explore.
The class also has a strong ethical element as, alongside using recycled materials, Jean uses organic cotton and Fairtrade materials. So if you are looking for an engaging and enjoyable class that won’t cost the earth, Textiles and Paper Crafts is for you.
