This exhibition is by students on the BTEC Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art & Design at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College. The work shows the diversity of ideas that have been produced during the first stage of the course.
The students explore a variety of specialist pathways and experiment with a wide range of different materials and processes. This gives them a variety of opportunities and new challenges that helps them to decide what area to specialise in.
Strong drawing skills are an essential element that enables the students to visualise and develop their ideas. All the students produce individual outcomes for taster projects in Fine Art, Textiles, Fashion Design, Graphics and Illustration, Photography, Three Dimensional and Spatial Design. These experiences help them to build up exciting and very personal portfolios for degree interviews.
Twenty-eight students have selected drawings, paintings, prints, photographs, textiles, graphics and three-dimensional design to represent themselves in this exhibition. It is a showcase of emerging creative talent and the first stage of an exciting journey towards them each achieving their ultimate future ambition to become a successful artist or designer working in the creative industry.
