Forthcoming Exhibition

Queen Elizabeth 6th Form College Students

Wednesday 14th January – Monday 23rd February

The Holocaust Memorial Day is the international day of remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust and genocides. The day is marked each year on 27th January – the anniversary of the date of the liberation of the Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. On it, victims are commemorated, survivors honoured and a commitment is made to tackling prejudice, discrimination and racism in the present day. Nations are encouraged to conquer genocide and atrocity and individuals to stand up against hatred.

Students on the BTEC Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art and Design at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College have produced an exhibition of work that has followed their investigations of the issues raised by the topic – Stand up to Hatred. The students have produced individual work, which reflects on the Holocaust and attempts to promote a democratic society, which respects and celebrates diversity. The exhibition contains artworks, which include fine art, graphics, photography, textiles and fashion outcomes.

This exhibition has been assisted by funding from Dover Family Fund.
