Swim 4 Life - Swimming Education Programme

Swimming

Swim 4 Life is a comprehensive water education programme that is open to all ages and abilities.  The programme is designed to enhance swim safety, progression and also enjoyment.  To help achieve this, Swim 4 Life follows the National Teaching Plan developed by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA).

The Dolphin Centre Swim 4 Life programme includes a broad range of water-based classes, activities and clubs.  Lessons will be 30 minutes in duration unless stated otherwise.  Please be aware that 5 minutes of this session is allocated for the teacher to complete notes on each student within their group.  This allows for progress to be monitored carefully.

How to Enrol

Once you have made your choice of the day, time and type of class you require, simply call into the Centre and speak to a receptionist who will enrol you or add you to the waiting list or call the Centre on 01325 388406.  Alternatively, if the course is full, ask for availability on other days and times.

Payment

Payment for courses must be made at the time of enrolment/re-enrolment and can be made by cash, cheque or debit/credit card.

Courses and Bank Holidays

Swimming lessons are booked in a 10-week block (this excludes Bank Holidays, where the 10-week block may be reduced to 9 or occasionally 8 sessions).

Progression

The Swim 4 Life scheme focuses on safety and progression.  The progression chart is highlighted in the Progression Levels.  Swimmers will be assessed continuously throughout the block of lessons and teachers will make recommendations on the course, which the student should follow in the next block of lessons.

Awards

Badges and certificates will be awarded if the child has achieved the necessary distance or level.  Awards are not included in the course fee and can be purchased at the Dolphin Centre Reception.  This is not compulsory.
