Boulder climbing wall

Darlington's first climbing boulder was opened on 13 September 2007.  The new outdoor climbing boulder has been installed at Eastbourne Sports Complex with funding from Barclays Spaces for Sport and Darlington Borough Council.  The boulder is an artificial rock designed for climbing.   Special techniques are used to navigate around the boulder, which is intended for beginners; however, allows progression to develop climbing skills and take on new challenges.  The boulder is an open access facility; people of all ages and abilities are welcome to come and climb for free.  Specialist climbing shoes and helmets are available for hire.

Barclays Spaces for Sport are funding taster sessions instructed by qualified staff on the boulder for schools and groups.  To find out whether you are eligible for this fantastic opportunity, contact Eastbourne Sports Complex on 01325 243188.
