A long-established event in conjunction with Darlington’s Local Motion initiative to encourage people to increase their health and well-being through cycling.
This event runs between April and September with up to 20 different rides for all abilities. All one-day events start and finish locally, with some travelling as far as Cumbria, and up to 500 riders at the biggest event. The Cycling Family Fun Day is held in June at the recently refurbished South Park, including a ‘bikathon’ for the whole family.
A long afternoon of music and entertainment for all the family in the newly re-furbished South Park. Activities include: a nature trail, historic tours, street theatre, music in the bandstand, crafts and a fair. Our local media partner, Alpha Radio, broadcast live from the park.
Come along for a day of fun at West Park. Join in with many of the workshops and be entertained with storytelling, stalls and music.
Join in the national Race for Life at South Park in aid of Cancer Research UK. For further details please visit www.raceforlife.org.
Following a very successful first year of music in the newly refurbished bandstand in South Park, we feature a different band each week (ranging from the Durham Youth Big Band to the Cockerton Brass Band). The bands will play on a Sunday afternoon throughout the summer months between 2.00pm and 4.00pm and are free. This is a very popular and well-attended event.
