Darlington Civic Theatre is one of the U.K.’s leading provincial theatres, delivering a varied programme of quality entertainment.  The magnificent Edwardian auditorium dates back to 1907 and holds 893 seats.

In the past, the Civic Theatre stage has played host to some of the very best entertainers in the business, including the great ballerina, Anna Pavlova, the versatile actors Nigel Havers and Stephanie Cole, and the irrepressible Ken Dodd, to name but a small selection.  Each season, well-known celebrities, along with quality entertainment, beckon our audiences.  You will always find a breathtaking and diverse range of drama, music, comedy, musicals, children’s entertainment and the ever-popular family pantomime.

Each year we present a programme of more than 70 shows to a region-wide audience of more than 170,000 of all ages. There are two bars; the Conservatory Bar on the ground floor and Signor Pepi’s bar on the first floor – named after the original Managing Director of the theatre.  The function room, also on the first floor, provides an exclusive, intimate area for corporate entertaining.
