Darlington Sports Development work very closely with a number of external and internal partners to develop sport and physical activity in Darlington. All of our partners play a significant role in helping us achieve our aims and objectives and over the years we have formed very important relationships with them.

Tees Valley Sport
Tees Valley Sport is one of 49 County Sports Partnerships (CSP) in England and is in partnership with five local authorities - Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees and Redcar & Cleveland. A County Sports Partnership is an umbrella for the local authorities in the region and is a link to Sport England on a national level. Sport England
Sport England is one of three national agencies involved in the delivery of sport in England. The other two are the Youth Sports Trust and UK Sport. Responsible for sustaining and increasing participation in community sport, Sport England reach their customers through the Delivery System for Sport. The Delivery System connects those involved in sport, at all levels, to ensure appropriate time, investment and energy is directed into projects that will make a difference. Darlington and District Youth and Community Association (DDYCA)
DDYCA is a registered charity working in Darlington to '... promote social inclusion and strengthen communities'. Projects, such as High Force Centre, Breaking Barriers and Zone Active, are currently being delivered by DDYCA and it is the latter that they work in partnership with Darlington Sports Development to deliver. Zone Active is a three-year project, which started in April 2005 and focuses on increasing participation in the 'lower socio-economic' areas of Darlington - Park East, Lascelles and Eastbourne. Darlington School Sport Partnership
School Sport Partnerships (SSP's) are groups of schools working together to develop Physical Education and sport opportunities for children of all ages. A typical SSP consists of a Partnership Development Manager (PDM), up to 8 School Sport Co-ordinators (SSCo's) and 45 Primary Link Teachers (PLT's) the School Sport Partnership. In Darlington Alison Raw is the PDM and there are 6 SSCo's and 27 PLT's, one from each primary school. The Darlington SSP and Darlington Sports Development work very closely to deliver and develop sport and physical activity in the town.
