I was first elected to the Council in 1976 and served for four years.  I was then re-elected on 5th May 2003 and I am currently Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group. I am also the Deputy Mayor for this Municipal Year.

I am appointed to the following Committees:

• Planning Applications Committee
• Efficency and Resources Scrutiny Committee
• Human Resources Committee and a number of its Panels
• Audit Committee
• Darlington Planning Forum

Outwith Council business I also hold the following positions:
