Local Area Agreement

'Young People - Our Future'; Darlington's Local Area Agreement (LAA) has been approved by Government Office.  The three year agreement sets out local priorities for Darlington, agreed between central government, Darlington Partnership and Darlington BC.  Our LAA will help to improve outcomes for children and young people and enhance community cohesion by utilising new and existing funding in an innovative way.

In addition, the LAA includes our 2nd Generation Public Service Agreement, now known as the Reward Element of the LAA.  A reward grant in excess of £2.8m is available if all 12 stretch targets are achieved.

LAAs are structured around four blocks: children and young people, safer and stronger communities, healthier communities and older people, and economic development and enterprise.  They form a key part of the Government's 10-year strategy for Local Government, which seeks to create more mature relationships between Central and Local Government.
