Terms of Reference

To consider cross-functional issues relating to Planning (except where specifically dealt with elsewhere), regeneration and develooment, transport, town centre business engagement, tourism, climate change and waste reduction, including Best Value Reviews for those Reviews within its remit.

Membership

The Environment Scrutiny Committee consists of 11 Members of the Council and is politically balanced to include six Labour, four Conservative,and one Liberal Democrat Member.  Details of the Membership is shown in the table below :-

Ordinary meetings of  Economy and Environment Scrutiny Committee are held bi-monthly and are generally open to all members of  the public to attend, except where an item is of a confidential nature.  Table 1 below contains a list of Committee dates for the Municipal Year 2008/09.  In addition to the ordinary meetings listed, special meetings of the Scrutiny Committee can be called.
