I was elected to the Council on 6th October 1966 and was Mayor of Darlington in 1978/1979.

During the past 12 months I have continued to attend and make regular, and hopefully valuable, contributions at all meetings I attend as a Darlington Borough Councillor.
I have attended training and development events to gain a better understanding of the work of the Council. All Councillors sign to attend a minimum of five training events each year. Our attendances at training events are monitored by the Council's Standards Committee.
I continue with my role as an active Ward Councillor for the Hummersknott Ward of Darlington and have an excellent relationship with my Ward Colleague Charles Johnson. We work together in keeping residents informed on anything affecting them and helping them with any problems they bring to us.
