We have a Cabinet which consists of nine Councillors consisting of the Leader and eight other Councillors and they are known as Portfolio Holders. The Leader and Cabinet Members are appointed on an annual basis by Full Council and following their appointment, the Leader allocates the following Cabinet Portfolios:

- Communities and Engagement
- Economy
- Health and Leisure
- Neighbourhood Services and Community Safety
- Resources
- Sustainable Environment and Climate Change

Scrutiny
Scrutiny is an important part of the Government's drive to modernise local government to ensure that we provide better public services. The process is about improving services for people by being responsive to their needs.
