Location of Polling Stations

Darlington Borough Council have now completed the review of polling districts and polling places. The aim of the review was to ensure that all electors have reasonable and practicable facilities for voting and that as far as is reasonable and practicable those polling places are accessible to all electors including those who are disabled.

New Regulations require each Local Authority to carry out a review of polling districts and polling places on a four yearly cycle. The completion date for the first review was 31st December, 2007.

Any elector within the Borough who resides within the Darlington and Sedgefield Parliamentary Constituencies was invited to make comments regarding the convenience of voting at polling stations currently used for elections and also on proposals for possible alternative venues (when published).

Following the review the Council published the final recommendations in October 2007 after taking into account all representations received, the report was considered by Council on 29th November, 2007. View a copy of the Council report - pdf document.
