Welcome to the Early Years, Childcare & Sure Start Service
The Service has a wide range of responsibilities which include:
- monitoring childcare and early education provision;
- providing advisory support to schools & settings receiving early education funding;
- providing advisory support to Nursery Schools;
- moderating & advising on the Foundation Stage Profile;
- providing training to staff in schools & settings;
- supporting schools & settings undertaking the Darlington Quality Assurance Kitemark;
- providing a service to schools, settings, children and parents within the SEN Framework;
- developing & maintaining links with other support services;
- monitoring childcare vacancies;
- providing pre-registration advice & business support advice to new childcare providers;
- providing support to settings & schools who wish to develop childcare place;
- providing support to childminding networks;
- providing business support and advice to existing childcare providers;
- providing high quality childcare and early education through Kids & Co;
- managing Darlington Toy Library.
