What is the Darlington Pathways to Quality Scheme?
Darlington Pathways to Quality Scheme has been developed by people working in a wide range of early years and childcare settings across Darlington to enable services to continually review, evaluate and improve their practice.
Settings which can achieve the accreditation are: childminders, creche providers, holiday playschemes, nursery schools, out of school clubs, playgroups & pre-schools, private day nurseries & independent schools
The Scheme is a guide for parents seeking high quality provision for their children. Settings can only gain accreditation by achieving a high level of quality. This ensures that your child should receive care, play and education of the highest standards. All the staff in the settings are involved in working through 8 modules of the Scheme. It can take up to 2 years to complete due to the high level of commitment, time and thought it requires.
How do I know if the setting I am thinking of for my child has the accreditation?
Once a setting has successfully completed a module they are presented with a certificate to display. This information is also kept on Childrens Infromation Service website . Once accreditation has been achieved, settings can use the Scheme's logo on their publicity material.
