The purpose of the framework is to provide support, information, guidance & challenge for all those with responsibility for the care & education of babies & children from birth to three years. The framework:
- values & celebrates babies & children;
- recognises their individuality, efforts & achievements;
- recognises that all children have from birth a need to develop, learning through interaction with people & exploration of the world around them. For some children, this development may be at risk.
- recognises the 'holistic' nature of development & learning;
- acknowledges, values & supports the adults that work with babies & young children;
- providers opportunities for reflection on practice;
- informs & develops practice whilst acknowledging that working with babies & children is a complex, challenging & demanding task & that often there are no easy answers.
