The Early Years Foundation Stage (E.Y.F.S) is a stage of a child's development from birth to the end of reception year in school.
The E.Y.F.S framework describes how early years practitioners should work with children and their families to support their development and learning.
From September 2008 the E.Y.F.S replaces the Curriculum guidance for the foundation stage and Birth to Three Matters Framework.
