Important Notice
The Darlington Crown Street Library will be closed on Wednesday 1st September from 12pm
The Library Service provides a free and accessible gateway to knowledge and information, recreation and leisure, culture and enjoyment. These aims are delivered through our loan collections of books, music recordings, spoken word tapes; our reference and information resources; our local history collections; our on-line data bases, and of course through our skilled staff.
Membership of Darlington Libraries is open to anyone and is free of charge. We offer for loan books, audio books, music on compact disk as well as language courses on tape and compact disk.
In order to join our library we ask you to complete the Membership form [pdf document]
There is a separate Membership form for under eighteens [pdf document]
Once you have completed this form please bring it into one of our libraries with proof of identity and proof of address such as a utility bill. If you cannot prove your address we can offer an interim membership with limited borrowing.
If you wish to become a borrower and you are under 18 we also require the signature of a responsible adult.
