Families can learn together with Darlington Libraries and Community Learning
Programmes of activities and courses can be adapted to families’ individual needs, to allow arents, carers and children to learn together. Courses can be run in schools, nurseries, libraries, community centres and children’s centres and are designed to help families enjoy learning and keep up-to-date with children’s learning.
Family Learning Courses (10 weeks):

Family Numeracy/Literacy Healthy Eating

Storysacks Positive Parenting

Arts and Crafts Fun with Reading

Playing with Language Creative Writing
All programmes are accredited with OCN Level 1 & 2 or OCR Entry Level 1, 2, 3. Family Learning is free. Literacy and numeracy courses are also free up to and including the first Level 2 course taken.
OCR courses in literacy and numeracy entry level 1, 2 and 3 are also now available. There is also the opportunity to take national tests at the end of the literacy and numeracy courses.
Free crèche facilities are available to allow parents with pre-school-age children to participate in courses. Family Learning Fun Families can learn together with Darlington Libraries and Community Learning.
