The Education premises team is responsible for co-ordinating the capital development of our learning establishments. This covers a variety of areas including:
Asset Management Planning – a five year planning process which takes into account the findings of school condition surveys.
Commissioning of School Condition Surveys, evaluating the repairs and maintenance work required in our schools.
The development of a school organisation plan.
Co-ordination of expenditure on capital grant devolved to schools.
Bidding for additional capital funds to further develop the quality of our educational buildings.
The development of the educational village at the Haughton school site, which brings together a Primary, Secondary and Special school onto one new 'village' campus, as well as the redevelopment of Harrowgate Hill Infant and Junior schools.
Responsible for the delivery of a number of major school building projects, including new constructions at Alderman Leach and Skerne Park.
Liaison point with church diocesan representatives regarding developments on denominational schools within the borough.
