The Village includes modern sports facilities, dance and drama studios and a large performance hall, which opens out onto the village green area to allow for indoor and outdoor performances.

Design and Technology classrooms are fitted with industry standard equipment, there are interactive music therapy rooms; a 14-19 centre to assist vocational education and training, enhanced facilities to allow children with all abilities to use classrooms effectively.

There is a soft play room; a dedicated parents room; 550 PCs throughout the building; a large Learning Resource Centre and library, with independent learning areas and interactive whiteboards with wireless internet access in every teaching space.

Councillor Chris McEwan, Darlington Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “I think it’s fantastic that all these people have been to see the Education Village. Let’s hope as many people take an interest in the courses and activities available to them at the Village in the future. We want everyone to benefit from the facilities and get the most out of this fantastic development.”
