The school transport section administers applications for free school transport, for children of compulsory school age, in accordance with Darlington Borough Council's policy.
The school transport section also process applications for travel grants from students attending further education, who are over compulsory school age but under 19, or continuing on a course that started before they reached 19.
Where a pupil has a statement of Special Educational Needs the section is responsible for securing appropriate transport provision.
