If you are a parent or carer of a child who has special educational needs, then the Oral Health Promotion Team may be able to help you and your child.
The Oral Health Promotion Team is part of the County Durham Dental Service who is available to give friendly and free dental advice and information. If your child is experiencing any dental health problems the team can assist you with dietary advice, toothbrushing, equipping you with a suitable toothbrush and toothpaste, but most importantly thay can answer any worries or concerns you may have in a sensitive and caring manner.
The Community Dental Service has surgeries in Darlington Health Centre, where dentists are available to treat children with special educational needs. The Health Centre is situated in Archer Street in the Town Centre, 01325 381486.
The team can also organise a workshop where they will chat to you and other parents about the support they can offer and it is alo possible to arrange a one-to-one meeting with yourself and one of the oral health team.
