Self-Guided Walks

Darlington Borough Council works in partnership with the North East Community Forest, Forestry Commission, The Ramblers Association and Government bodies such as DEFRA (Department for environment, food and rural affairs) and the Countryside Agency to bring to the public a wide range of enjoyable walks and rides using the Rights of Way and Permissive Paths within the Borough.

There is also the Countryside Access Directory, which may be of interest to those with limited mobility.

There are many Countryside Leaflets and Publications available to the public.  They vary from Cycle Routes, utilising the bridleways and back roads around Darlington to easy to moderate Circular Walks set in the countryside surrounding Darlington.
