Why not make your office or workplace Fairtrade Friendly and help farmers in the developing world get a better deal through:
- Speak to your catering manager about offering Fairtrade foods to staff. You may be able to source from your existing supplier. Or contact paula.jamieson@darlington.gov.uk for information on suppliers.
- Arrange a display of Fairtrade posters and make samples available in the work kitchen and/or canteen. You can find some available to download and print off the Fairtrade website [external link] .
- Write an article about Fairtrade for your intranet or staff newsletter.
- Arrange a workplace petition to persuade your company to offer Fairtrade foods
- Use Fairtrade tea and coffee in your brew group
Once you have achieved two or more of these goals contact the Sustainable Development Officer on 01325 388761 or email paula.jamieson@darlington.gov.uk and then you can be accredited as being Fairtrade Friendly and be advertised in Darlington’s Fairtrade Directory.
