Health and Safety training is a legal requirement. Darlington Borough Council is committed to its employees, and provides a range of health and safety training courses. Here is some information about the Health and Safety courses we offer to our employees, and contractors.
If you have any queries, please contact the Health and Safety Unit at safety@darlington.gov.uk
Our health and safety courses are open to all, but some are specific to a particular role or area of responsibility. Please spend some time looking at the details before making a decision on whether a course is going to suit your needs. If you have a specific training need that is not addressed by our course syllabus, please contact the Safety Unit to discuss your requirements, as we may be able to tailor an existing course to suit or arrange bespoke training.
Most of our courses are offered to assist you to satisfy statutory health and safety obligations. Our objective is to increase your awareness of these obligations and to develop the competency within your establishments to deliver effective health and safety management.
All our training courses are run by people with expertise in the subject matter and are presented using a variety of media including the use of PowerPoint, video etc. We try to ensure our training is interactive and encourage learning through participation. Please come prepared to discuss the issues relevant to you and your establishment, and we will do our best to give you advice and assistance. Do not expect to sit and listen when you attend a course on this programme, we aim to teach you how to put theory into practice when you return to your establishment
Please follow the links below for course information. To book a place on a course please contact the Safety Unit at safety@darlington.gov.uk.
