Milk Cartons
NO, Unfortunately milk cartons cannot be placed into your green recycling box, however they can be recycled at the Household Waste Recycling Centre
Foil
NO, Currently we do not have any recycling facilities for aluminium foil.
Duvets
NO, We cannot accept duvets and sheets through the kerbside recycling scheme, they can however be donated to your local charity shop
Yellow pages
Yes, Yellow pages and telephone directories can be recycled through your kerbside recycling scheme . These items can also be taken to your local recycling paper bank.
Envelopes
YES, Envelopes can be recycled through the kerbside recycling scheme, please remember however to remove the window before you place it in your blue bag.
Assisted Collections
YES, Residents who require assistance with recycling can apply for an assisted collection.

Green boxes are available from the Town Hall Contact Centre or by telephoning Customer Services 0n (01325) 388777
Batteries
YES, Household batteries can be recycled at the Household Waste Recycling Centre
Shredded Paper
Yes, small amounts of shredded paper can be taken through your kerbside recycling scheme. Large amounts (i.e. bin bags full) will not be taken.
Plastics
Yes, Darlington Borough Council provides plastic recycling at the Household Waste Recycling Centre In addition to the above Clear plastic P.E.T bottles, such as mineral water or squash bottles can be recycled through your kerbside recycling scheme
Cardboard
Yes, There is a cardboard recycling facility available at the Household Waste Recycling Centre
Bulky household items
YES, Bulky household items can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre
Permits
NO, Darlington Borough Council do not operate a permit scheme for the Household Waste Recycling Centre, however this facility is for domestic waste only, any person identified as disposing of Commercial Waste will be subject to prosecution.
