45,000 properties within Darlington Borough have been issued with a free, 55 litre, green plastic recycling bin in which to store their household refuse to be recycled.
Residents can recycle steel and aluminium cans, glass bottles; PET marked plastics and Newspaper, Junk mail and paper, Textiles, Yellow Pages and telephone directories.

Kerbside recycling boxes are emptied once a fortnight, on the same day as existing refuse collections.
Boxes must be placed on the kerbside, or established refuse collection point, on the day of collection and placed to as not to inconvenience passers-by.
Residents currently receiving assistance with refuse collections can also receive assistance for kerbside recycling collections by contacting Customer Services on 01325 388777

- Request a replacement recycling box or blue bag
- Arrange for your rubbish or recycling to be collected if it hasn't been collected as normal
- Arrange removal of bulky household waste or garden rubbish
