Litter and Flytipping
A regular comprehensive street cleaning programme is operated across the Borough. This programme is carried out either by mechanical or manual means using a variety of purpose-built equipment daily, weekly, monthly and for some tasks annually.
The regular service includes sweeping, litter picking, fly tipping removal, gully emptying and fly posting/graffiti removal. In addition there are seasonal services such as leaf clearance and blossom fall removal as well as weed control and winter maintenance.

Flytipping
To report flytipping please contact us at streetscene@darlington.gov.uk. There is a fine if you are caught flytipping.
Flytipping can attract a maximum fine of £50,000 and or imprisonment up to 5 years under Section 33 Environmental Protection Act 1990 [external link]
