Cemeteries and Crematorium
The Council’s Cemetery and Crematorium team are responsible for the day to day routine and management of one Crematorium and three Cemeteries.
The work is carried out in accordance with relevant legislation and the Crematorium operates under the Federation of British Cremation Authorities Code of Cremation Practice [external link]
The Council has also adopted the Charter for the Bereaved, the purpose of which is to improve funerals and provide at least the minimum requirement expected of the Bereaved.

In addition to taking funeral bookings, the office is also responsible for all associated paperwork required for a funeral.
