Composting is an easy way to dispose of your kitchen and green waste which also creates a nutrient rich food that can be used in your garden or allotment.

Composting tips:
- Anything that was once living will compost.
- You should use an equal balance of green and brown waste in your compost heap.
- Green waste includes raw vegetable and fruit peelings, tea bags and coffee grounds, weeds, grass cutting and soft prunings, poultry manure and bedding.
- Brown waste includes cardboard, waste paper, shredded confidential waste, newspaper, leaves and bedding such as straw, hay and wood shavings from rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters.
- Meat, dairy, cooked food and animal poo should not be composted.
