Changes to Services

Permit holders who pay for their residents parking are currently unable to renew online due to technical problems.

You can renew your permit:

  • in person at the Customer Contact Centre at the Town Hall
  • send a cheque upon receipt of your renewal letter
  • telephone the Parking Processing Team on 01325 388740 and pay by phone

Permit holders who are issued free permits can still renew online as normal.

Changes to Events

[21/05/13] The Busy Feet group will take place at Dodmire Childrens Centre (not Maidendale) on Thursday 23 May (11:15-12:30)

Road Closures and Public Transport

[21/05/13] Darlington Road (Middleton St George) will be closed for two days from Wednesday 29 May. Arriva Service 12/12A will operate via Fighting Cocks and will be unable to serve the bus stops at St Georges Gate.

[15/05/13] Burtree Lane will be closed for resurfacing for about 2 weeks from Monday 20 May. Arriva Service 14A will operate from Longfield Road via Alwyn Road, Marina Road, Alwyn Road, then normal route. Harrowgate Farm will not be served during this time.

Landslip and road closure – A67 High Coniscliffe / Piercebridge

[25/04/13] Arriva have published a revised route and timetable for services 75, 76 and 76a [external link]

[24/04/13] The temporary minibus will continue to operate until 31 May, whilst longer term options are explored.

[02/04/13] A road closure remains in place in the interests of public safety. The main concern being the potential impact of movement of earth on significant Northumbrian Water (NWL) mains located underneath the road.

Starting on 3 April, a temporary shuttle minibus service operated by 1 a/b taxis will be operating from High Coniscliffe to Darlington Town Centre.

The minibus will be picking passengers up from High Coniscliffe following the route of the 75/76 to the town centre.  Journeys will depart High Coniscliffe at 07:45, 08:15, 08:45, 12:00, 12:30, 17:00 and 17:30 with return journeys from the town centre stopping at Stand N on Houndgate, at 08:00, 08:30, 11:45, 12:15, 16:45 and 17:15. It is anticipated that the service will be in place for around four weeks.

There is a signed diversion in place which directs traffic from Piercebridge along the B6275, via Staindrop Road then Carmel Road North.

The number 14 footpath is also closed due to the landslip

We are unable to grit paths, apart from those in the Town Centre when resources become available. There are grit bins available in Darlington if you need to grit paths yourself.
