How to use this website

This website is designed to be easy to use. However it may be helpful to you if we explain some of our thinking.  First of all you do not need to know anything about the Council to find information or a service that you are interested in. The website is built around topic themes.

All information is grouped under one or more of the 14 Themes which are Community & living; Council, Government & Democracy; Education & Learning; Environment; Business; Health & Social Care; Housing; Jobs & Careers; Legal Services; Leisure & Culture; Life Events; Policing & Public Safety; Social Issues and Transport & Streets.

To aid navigation, we have a 'breadcrumb trail' which shows you the profile page, the theme and pages you have viewed.  Simply click on any of these items to return to that page or theme.  There is also a 'back to homepage' icon for your convenience.  This is shown in the red bar at the top of this page.

We also have a search engine at the top-right of the site. You can use this to find news articles, documents and web pages which contain the words you have specified.
