19/07/04 - Mount Pleasant Primary School has been presented with a 'Caring for Our Environment Award' by Darlington Borough Council in recognition of the school's work to reduce litter and the promotion of waste reduction and recycling.
Last month the school took part in a litter pick arranged by Darlington Council in conjunction with McDonalds. Pupils spent the morning picking litter within their school grounds and learning about how to care for their local environment and recycling.
The school also encouraged pupils to create posters promoting helping the environment which have since been displayed in the Northgate McDonalds restaurant.
