Giving Tree Appeal Closes
15/12/06 - PEOPLE only have two days left to get their gifts under Darlington’s Giving Tree.
The appeal finishes on Sunday December 17, as Schotts Removals will collect the presents from all of the drop off points on Monday and take them to Central House Annexe for sorting.
A number of volunteers including members of GOLD (Growing Older Living in Darlington), St Teresa’s Hospice and Millennium Volunteers, as well as Darlington Council staff.
The Giving Tree Appeal is run by Darlington Council to collect gifts for people who would otherwise not receive anything at Christmas.
All gifts must be new and unwrapped and can be for children or adults of all ages. They can be left at Asda in Whinfield, Alpha Radio on Woodland Road and Travelcare in Bondgate.
The appeal is supported by Alpha radio, The Northern Echo, Darlington Council for Voluntary Service and local companies including Shotts Removals, Escapades and Travelcare.
