Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
21/11/06 - GIRLS from the Northgate area of Darlington are invited to join in an activity afternoon in December
The event, aimed at encouraging more girls to take part in Youth Service activities, is open to girls aged 11 to 19 who live in the Northgate area.
There will be a range of activities on offer including Bollywood dance, music, jewellery making, arts and crafts, henna tattoos and hair and beauty demonstrations.
Anyone who attends the event will be able to speak to members of the Council’s Youth Service and share their ideas about the kind of events and activities they want to take part in.
The event takes place on Saturday December 2 between 1pm and 4pm at Corporation Road Baptist Church Hall.
Chris McEwan, Darlington Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “We are always keen to hear what activities and events young people want to be involved in so the Youth Service can deliver the service that they want.
“I hope a lot of girls come along to this event to have fun, try some new activities and share their views. We are keen for more girls to become a part of the Youth Service and have a real say in shaping the activities of the future.”
