Elton John will perform in the town on Saturday July 5 and thousands of people have bought tickets for the event.
Gates open at 5pm, with Elton John expected on stage by 8.15pm. The concert is planned to finish at 10.40pm.
There will be five park and ride sites on the night, charging £5 a space including free shuttle bus service.
The park and ride, which does not have to be booked in advance, will be at:
• Darlington College: 400 spaces
• Lingfield Point: 1,250 spaces
• Cummins Engineering: 550 spaces
• Orange: 1,200 spaces
• AMEC: 275 spaces
There will also be another 620 spaces available at the stadium (parking at the stadium must be booked in advance through the football club) and town centre car parks will also be available.
Buses from the town centre will charge the same as on match days.
The resident parking scheme around the stadium will be in operation, as on match days, from 4pm.
At the end of the concert Neasham Road will be closed from 10pm to 1am, except for the park and ride buses and services buses, operating between Geneva Road and Brankin Road.
Vehicles parked at the stadium will only be allowed out once it is safe to do so – it is anticipated that vehicles will be kept in the car park until at least 11:30pm.
Residents living in Neasham Road, between Geneva Road and Brankin Road, in Railway Cottages and at the caravan site will not be allowed to drive through the closure.
Lay-bys on the A66 will be also closed and information signs will be erected on all major routes to the stadium.
The Council’s Environmental Health Officers will be monitoring noise, food safety and health and safety at work on the day of the concert.
