The office in Horsemarket will close on Thursday June 12 and re-open in its new premises within the Dolphin Centre on Saturday June 14.
The move is aimed at providing customers with a better service by having closer links between leisure and tourism facilities within Darlington Council.
The new opening times of the TIC at the Dolphin Centre will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturdays 9am to 3pm and Bank Holiday Mondays from 10am to 2pm.
The services provided by the TIC will remain the same, including National Express Travel bookings, Ticketmaster bookings, day tour and mini break bookings, sales of gifts and souvenirs, as well as free information on accommodation, events and places to visit.
The new TIC will also provide ticket booking services for the Civic Theatre and Arts Centre.
Councillor Andy Scott, Darlington Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Leisure said: “The new venue for the Tourist Information Centre will help us to provide a much better service to customers.
“We will be maintaining the existing services, but will be linking in with the existing box office which is already situated within the Dolphin Centre. It just means that people will be able to get all the information they need under one roof.”
