16/06/08 - DARLINGTON’S Mayor, Ian Haszeldine, handed out £1,300 to different good causes in his first month in office.
This year, money raised for the Mayor’s Charitable Fund is being donated to groups or individuals who apply for funding for activities or events.
Among the recipients in the first month were Darlington Community Carnival, which was awarded £350, the Riverside Residents Association, which was given £100 for summer
community activities, and the Red Hall Partnership, which was given £180 for table top football tournament.
